The Wiewel Law Firm - The Peace of Mind People®
Estate Planning and Probate Attorneys -
Austin, Georgetown*, and Horseshoe Bay*, Texas

Who We Are

The Wiewel Law Firm focuses its practice exclusively in the area of wills, probate, estate planning, and financial planning. Brad Wiewel, Doug Paul and Candice Bocock are Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. We provide estate attorney services, asset protection planning, business planning, and retirement exit strategies. We also provide trust attorney services, creating charitable trusts, special needs trusts, living wills, and financial and medical powers of attorney. Years of experience, a passion for helping our clients, and a high regard for law and ethics guide the way we help our clients in will planning, setting up secure estate administration, and creating trust administration structures. We can also carefully and gently help families navigate through the probate process. Through our offices in Austin, Georgetown, and Horseshoe Bay, we serve clients in those cities as well as clients in Westlake, Lakeway, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Marble Falls, San Antonio and the Highland Lakes area of Texas.

What We Do

Going beyond the writing of wills, family limited partnerships, limited liability companies and life insurance trusts, we often help clients prepare for un-planned possibilities like debilitating health problems, or disabling injuries. It is our objective to maximize the control you and your loved ones will have at critical times regarding healthcare decisions and asset management, while minimizing the need for court intervention. Using a time tested skill-set of proven legal techniques we guide our clients through complexities which might otherwise seem overwhelming. To make certain our clients are well protected, we often offer to keep vital documents up-to-date, help our clients avoid probate and unnecessary taxes, and aid them in constructing strategies and trusts to insure their families are provided for in difficult times. In all cases, we intend to do this with a level of quality which exceeds our clients' expectations in every way. This is why we call our law firm The Peace of Mind People®.

Why We Do What We Do

Meetings with attorneys always seem to deal with the WHAT and HOW of estate planning and probate. At The Wiewel Law Firm we call ourselves The Peace of Mind People®. We want to take a moment and tell you WHY we do what we do.

Here is the WHY of The Wiewel Law Firm: We LOVE taking complex legal concepts and making those understandable to our clients and their advisors so they can take action. That then allows us to bring peace of mind to our clients and their family if they become incapacitated, at death, and when they are concerned about protecting themselves, their wealth, and their loved ones from predators, problematic family members and the IRS.

We also enjoy assisting our clients in planning for their own disability, because the disability piece is the part that affects "me" while the death part only affects "them." And our clients are always only thinking about others first. We like giving them the comfort that if they do experience an incapacitating illness or accident, control of their assets and health care decisions will remain with them and their family, not the court system. In real estate it is always "Location, Location, Location" but in estate planning it is always "Control, Control, Control."

We get satisfaction from sheltering our clients' property (and their family's later inheritance) from predators and creditors. Whether the issue is shielding them from frivolous lawsuits, divorce protection of the inheritance, problematic in-laws, re-marriage concerns after the first death, a troubled child/step-child relationship or a loved one who just isn't good with money, counseling with our clients about these pitfalls provides them with a peace of mind that insurance alone cannot offer.

In addition, our clients' more valuable assets are often their children and grandchildren. We relish assisting with selecting the "right" guardian for the little ones, and deciding the "right" amount to leave to the grandkids. Our clients sleep much better knowing that the most vulnerable family members are protected from uncertainty.

There is no higher calling than meeting with families with a developmentally disabled child. Listening to their fears and concerns is often a humbling experience. Supplying solutions for special families is one of our callings. We like protecting families from unnecessary taxes. There are two tax systems in the country: one for the informed and one for the uninformed; it is fun moving our clients into the informed column, and gives us and our clients a strong sense of purpose knowing that unnecessary taxes are not going to be paid.

We love what we do especially when it involves meeting with clients who have lost a family member. Whether it is the surviving spouse, children, or friends, helping them understand and navigate the post-death legal processes gives us a great sense of fulfillment. Offering a measure of steady, caring counsel to a grieving family brings us great peace of mind too.

Our Mission

The Wiewel Law Firm's mission statement is to honor God, our clients, our families, and our community by providing each of our clients with the finest legal counseling possible. We endeavor to serve our clients by exceeding their expectations in every way, but especially by providing an ongoing personal relationship with them over the course of their lives. We are The Peace Of Mind People®.
